Astoria in Walldorf

Terrible. This used to be my absolute favorite hotel to stay in -- and I live here in Chicago! I solely book for the hotel experience and staycation night away. Ordinarily, service and comfort are top notch. This year, anything but. My husband booked a suite for me, as we have done every year. He made a reservation by phone and was NOT told the fireplaces don't work (construction). What is the point in a suite?? We dined in a freezing cold igloo and wanted to come back to enjoy the fire and a bottle of wine. We tried to downgrade, because what a waste, but that wasn't an option. Speaking of wine, we requested a wine bottle opener BEFORE and AFTER dinner and still took too long. Husband ultimately had to go wait in the lobby until someone from wait staff could provide us with one (hours after requesting one be sent to our room). Then, time for bed. There was no comforter on the bed, merely a few layers of sheets! So cold! I had to call and ask for a blanket, which was also super thin. Breakfast was overpriced ($70!) for an omelet, coffee and juice (they were out of everything I asked for; english muffin, nope, grapefruit, nope, grapefruit juice, nope......coffee was $15 alone, for just me!). Forgot to mention the champagne he ordered to be in the room for my arrival for my birthday also did not show up for 45 min after check-in, which as right before we had to leave for dinner reservations. Never was a problem before. Last time I stay here, so many amazing places to choose from in Chicago. This was not worth $700 for one night.

Even with all the covid-19 restriction this hotel when above and beyond to make sure. That we have anything we need .and gave us great service The room was clean and safe. Same as the other facilities in the hotel. Spa even though it was limited, still we were able to get a workout. The cafe downstairs was great . With many choices to have a nice drink or entrees. I wanted to especially thank judson from the front desk. That kept a personal eye on every request we had throughout our stay. And was very professional and truly cared about guests.thank you very much for a great stay . We loved it and we highly recommend the waldorf astoria Chicago 👍👌

Beautiful room, luxurious spacious even in a Pandemic was a beautiful night!!! Although the fireplace was shut off was still amazing

This review is solely for the club at night. It's a "club" in the lobby of the hotel. The club is more of a make shift dance floor with a bar area. There are loads of Koreans as you would expect for a "club" in Korea town. The club's set up is so wacky, being a hotel and all. I didn't have to wait in line very long. I was in line and then I just walked up to the bouncer. He was very sweet. He didn't make a fuss about us just cutting. Waldorf Astoria was very long when I went, so I think you should just ask the bouncer to cut.

This place is so beautiful. The front desk attendants were very polite and professional. They were always available to assist. Masks are required and hand sanitizers were mounted at different locations to ease customers accessible.

For me, the best hotel in Chicago, pinnacle! I enjoyed every minute spent here. They have amazing service, everything is stunning.

Ultimate Chicago hotel. Loved our stay here in the spring before everything shut down. Really miss our staycations but this one was awesome. GREAT spa treatments too.. ask for Jennifer! Really amazing hands!

From the moment i arrived i experienced a very hospitable environment and was treated wonderfully! When i asked the front desk for help with directions they were more than happy to assist! I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel was quiet and conveniently located. There is a highway-bus stop located at the hotel. If you have concerns, you can directly call the attention of the staff for they are very friendly and accommodating. They would help you anytime you want.

The place is big and my kids enjoy their stay here. The pool is very big and very child-friendly. I love their rooms because it has a sense of private ambiance and very classy. I always recommended this place to my family and friends every time we plan for swimming. A very nice place, friendly staff, and a very unforgettable experience always.

The staff were professional, courteous and accommodating! The room was immaculate, although the view was so-so. Room service was my only complaint. Food was not prepared correctly and was much later than they promised.

If anybody is trying to find great deals for hotels and resorts go over to ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ reserved a resort on there and they had the best prices worldwide! A superior hotel! This was the first time I stayed here, and I am very happy with my decisions. I am deeply impressed by how they handled their many customers politely with no hassles at all. A clean and neat place liked this was deeply admirable. The quality of service they provided was amazing! I couldn't ask for more!

If anybody is trying to find great deals for hotels and resorts go over to ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ reserved a resort on there and they had the best prices worldwide! A superior hotel! The best choice when It comes to the hotel's accommodations. I would definitely recommend and refer your services to everyone without any hesitation. Their great interiors truly attract their customers. No hidden charges compare to others, and no hidden flaws at all. The most trustworthy place to feel secure and safe. Cheers!

Very nice hotel for a quick staycation! It is in the middle of Gold Coast. I love that there are so many restaurants and shopping places minutes away! Even the beach is like a 5 minute walk. The hotel was very nice. I give it 4 stars because I feel like it's missing that personal connection/touch from the staff to the guests.

My best friend booked me and my now-husband a room here as her wedding present to us over Labor Day weekend. We were incredibly touched by her generosity, and were excited to stay here because of all the wonderful reviews. Unfortunately, our stay was not great. My friend made a point to call the hotel ahead of our arrival and arrange for flowers and champagne to be put in our room to help us celebrate. Although the flowers arrived, the champagne never did. Additionally, the front staff told us that although the hotel’s restaurant and room service were not available, we would still be able to use the room meal credits my friend paid for at their cafe, Petit Margeaux, which they promised would still have the same high quality food available. We went to the Petit Margeaux, and although our cashier was helpful, what was served to us was about on par with what you’d get at a grab-and-go kiosk at an airport. The price was about the same, too ($80 for a salad, a veggie wrap, and a 10oz pre-mixed and pre-package cocktail). Upon returning to our room, we discovered they gave us the wrong salad (we’re vegetarian, and the salad they gave us had meat although the salad I ordered was meat free), and the veggie wrap was soggy and incredibly greasy. They did replace the salad after I went down and told them of the mistake, and when I showed them the veggie wrap, they said we had purchased the last one they had in stock. All of these charges, as confirmed by the cashier, were supposed to be covered by the meal credits my friend purchased for us, but they were charged to my credit card, which I gave at check in to cover for any room incidentals. I understand that amenities are subject to change during COVID-19, but I do not feel that these changes were adequately communicated. Their website was confusing at best, and they definitely under-delivered on the amenities that were still available. Although the room was lovely, we were both very disappointed by all other aspects of our stay—especially given the stellar ratings from other guests. We only stayed at the Waldorf Astoria for two nights before heading to the Radisson Blu for the rest of our honeymoon, where we’ve already received incredible service (and amenities and food!) at a fraction of the cost.

The best! Nothing is open right now due to covid so that sucks but the rooms and the service are fantastic! Little lobby Cafe is cute and serves delicious coffee! I'd wait til you can enjoy all the hotel amenities to get your money's worth. Will be returning- definitely.
